A GUIDE TO THE NEW RENAISSANCE

Chapter Eleven

THE NEW RENAISSANCE MAN AND WOMAN

The term, Renaissance Man, refers to someone skilled at many things in both arts and sciences. During the first Renaissance, it was possible for one person to know almost all the knowledge then available. That time is long gone. Today it is nearly impossible for one man to possess all knowledge of one small part of one field of endeavor, much less the whole of all knowledge. Actually, this in and of itself is one of the reasons why so many men and women are unhappy and dissatisfied today. The New Renaissance man and woman has this same thirst for knowledge but on a different plane. They realize that anything that goes into the mind dies with the mind, but that which is fed to the Soul stays with the Soul and becomes Immortal. The words of the Nazarene show the continuity of the Law: "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through to steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

To build only the mind is the same as laying up treasures on the Earth, because the mind is of the Earth. In the New Renaissance those who are in harmony with the tenor of the times will build for eternity by thought and actions that are in harmony with God's Divine Law. They will be known as the "People of the New Renaissance," as they will personify the Spirit of this time just as the men of many talents personified the best of the first Renaissance.

CENTERS OF CONTROL WITHIN MAN

Many of the actions and feelings of men and women are controlled by three centers within them. To become a New Renaissance personification these three centers must not only be developed but must be carefully balanced. This balance can be symbolized by an accurate comprehension of the Nazarene's statement, "Be ye therefore wise as serpents, (strong as bulls,) and harmless as doves." The central admonition was omitted in most translations of this text, but it is as important to the completion of the New Renaissance man as the other two.

The serpent has always symbolized the mind because of the cunning this creature traditionally possesses. The bull, for obvious reasons, is the standard for strength; his center is in the solar plexus, the largest nerve grouping outside the brain. The love center, symbolized by the dove, is located in the pelvic nerve plexus or the Biblical loins.

All three of these centers are important to the type of person who will be welcome to the New Renaissance. In most persons in the past, as well as today, one or another of these centers usually predominated, and the results produced are responsible for the evils this earth has had to endure.

The person in whom the brain center predominates is all reason and logic with no heart or strength. Such persons are cold and may become cruel at the least provocation. They have little patience with most of the "dumb" people around them. These people find it difficult to understand why, when they are so brilliant, so many want to shun them.

The saving grace for individuals who are imbalanced toward the mental canter is that they do not have the strength to do all the harm they would like to do. It is this mid-only configuration that animates most reformers. Because they have so little true passion, they cannot understand why every one cannot live the cerebral life as they do.

A close relative of this unbalanced person is the one who has both strong mental and strong vitality (solar plexus) centers. These persons are truly dangerous. They not only possess the cold, calculating unforgiving nature of the first, but also posses the force and power to enforce their will on others. Most of the world's despots, of whatever field or endeavor, fall into this category. They have all the strengths and weaknesses of the mental man plus the will to inflict their opinions on others.

Such individuals are now found nearly everywhere in the leadership of American institutions. They know how to make money. They know how to produce efficiency. They are, alas, more to be envied than respected, more to be feared than loved by all who know them. Invariably, as the Bible prophesizes, their last state is worse than their first. When they are ready for their transition, their survivors are more concerned about their legacy than about their loss. If such individuals were in national or international power, there might even be rejoicing at their passing. Imagine the effect this has on the Soul as it arrives in the Soul World!

The person in whom the solar plexus center predominates is pure brute. These people are directed only by their animal passions and will attempt to take whatever they want, often without thinking about the consequences. At one time this was the stereotype of the great majority of men, but as the mental capacity was developed, the numbers of this type diminished. They are far from gone, however, and if an honest survey was made worldwide, they probably still would be in the majority in the male population.

For centuries the needed work of the world was done by the backs of men such as these. Without them, civilization, as we know it, would have been impossible. They fulfilled their duties. It has been said, "Without the intelligentsia the peasants could not be led, but without the peasants the intelligentsia could not be fed." These crude members of society have always been ridiculed by their "betters," but they produced the firm foundation upon which society was and is built.

In preparing for the New Renaissance, a real change is occurring in the previous order of things. New technological advances threaten to dislodge the traditional job market for these men and women. As machines and robots take over more of the drudgery occupations, these individuals fine it increasingly difficult to secure a place in society.

There is only one answer: Develop or perish. If they cannot develop their mental and love natures, they will go the way of the dinosaurs and all others who could not keep up with the evolution of the Earth and society. Although it is always painful to see fellow human being in such a position, nevertheless, positive change is essential both to their own progress and to that of all humanity.

When we begin to examine individuals in whom the love center predominates, we usually address the distaff side of humanity. It is not at all unusual to find a woman who has a strong love nature but has little reasoning power and even less inherent strength. Such an individual can be a great asset to humanity, however, if she is "lucky"* enough to meet and to marry a strong, understanding husband who will appreciate her good points and does not expect that which she is unable to give.
------------------------------------------------
* In the New Renaissance there will be no such thing as luck in the general sense of the word. All come under the exact functioning of the Law, and what is called luck, either good or bad, is but the reaping of what was previously sowed.
------------------------------------------------

They have the ability to bring great Souls into the world because their strong love nature will act as a magnet to draw such Souls to them. If they do not meet the right man for them, but come under the influence of those who take advantage of them, they are in dire trouble. Because they are ruled by their love nature, they are easily taken advantage of and seem fair game to every scoundrel who comes their way. Because they lack the mental capacity to learn from their mistakes, they often repeat the same ones. They are always looking for a "knight in shining armor" who will take care of them, but, unfortunately, there are only so many knights around.

Since these dear ones lack force not only in the mental center but also in the vitality center, they are delicate. If they do not find the necessary protective environment early, they may not live to seek it further. At one time these were a common variety, but, like their direct opposite, the all-vital man, they are now on the decrease.

The individual who has developed both the love nature and the vital center is a person still much like the delicate flower described above, except that she (this combination is usually found in women) is much stronger and, therefore, is able to survive longer and perhaps begin to learn from her impetuousness. Because she is more durable than the first love type, this woman has a better chance to meet a man who will be able to supply the wisdom and mental alertness she lacks.

An increasing number of women have developed both love and the mental centers and also are aware in the vital area. If they do not marry, but stay in the business world, they are frequently frustrated because they cannot keep up with all they want to do and "burn out" early. Few women have the type of vital center that survives without injury in the world that men built for themselves.

Men in this category, with a predominant love center, are usually poets, ballad writers, and so on. This does not mean that all such professions are made up of this group, but only that this combination of centers inclines a person toward such a state of mind.

BALANCE OF THE NEW RENAISSANCE PERSON

In most of humanity each of these centers is active, but not necessarily in equal degree. For example, a frequent combination might be a person with ten percent of the mental center active, twenty-five percent of the vital center, and perhaps four percent of the love-center. Surprisingly, such a combination would not make a disagreeable person. In fact, you would not be sorry if you invited him to your home. He should be more desirable than the majority of those who enter your portals. This is not said in an effort to deprecate mankind but to show what great potential lies ahead.

As mentioned earlier, it is important to establish a balance in these three centers rather than to develop one to the exclusion of the others. For instance, a person who had twenty-five percent growth in each center would be more worthy than one who had fifty percent growth in the mental and vital centers, but only twenty percent in the love center. This latter individual would still tend to be dictatorial and overbearing because his love center, though somewhat developed, would be overshadowed by both the vital and the mental aspects.

Although balance per se is of prime importance, the level of the balance cannot be ignored. A person with a balance of five percent/five percent/five percent is to be admired for the balance, but the amount of energy present is such a balance is too low to be of much benefit to the world.

To achieve a balance at a sufficiently high level to become a center of good for the New Renaissance, first analyze yourself to see if you can ascertain your strong and weak centers. Once this is done, make efforts to strengthen the weaknesses and attempt to control the overbalanced centers, so that they do not become a source of trouble or regret. NO EFFORT SHOULD EVER BE MADE TO LESSEN THE VITALITY OF A CENTER ALWAYS STRENGTHEN THE WEAK AND CONTROL THE STRONG.

THE NEED TO DEVELOP THE CENTERS

Earlier we spoke of the myth (?) concerning the separation of the original being to form man and woman. In this separation it would seem that men inherited a tendency for the predominance of mental and vital centers; women, a tendency for the love center. Therefore, in most instances men should work to develop their love center and women to develop the mental logic center and in some cases the vital center. In real life, today, however, with the general decrease of human vitality, both sexes need to develop this center for greater energy.

The best possible way to develop a center is to observe the example of one who has this center already developed. For this reason, the One Flesh marriage is such an important part of a normal life for both men and women. Through the close proximity of a loving wife a man, who is wise and knowledgeable, can learn to develop his love center by her example and at the same time she can have the example of his logical mind and strength. This classic combination may not always apply; there are many marriages with silly, illogical husbands and some with wives devoid of love, but in general it is a good premise to start with.

The New Renaissance man will have a mind balanced with a love nature strong enough to understand the weaknesses of his fellowman and yet sufficiently logical that he will never interfere with their own development except when they reach a point where they CANNOT help themselves. He will have sufficient vitality to be able to bring into manifestation every good thing he can conceive. His love centers will be so filled with energy that it will constantly radiate vibrations that will draw to him all who are desirous of having such similar centers.

The New Renaissance woman will have a love center that will make her the "mother of the world." All who meet her will know that with her their deepest secrets are safe and the words of help and succor that come from her come directly from the heart of God Himself. Her mind will be alert to anything that might in anyway endanger her family. She will know the proper manner and tone to take at all times so that even the most brutish would not dare speak a crude word or do an uncouth act in her presence. Gone will be the delicate flower of the past that required a "hot house" environment. The woman of the New Renaissance will have spent time developing her vitality center so that she may always be the Rock of Gibraltar to all who look to her for comfort and solace.

Together she and her husband will make a One Flesh battery that will be so potent that would-be despots and reformers of all kinds will think twice before attempting to court their ire. The force of even one such couple is inestimable, but once we have a nation of such families, the New Renaissance will be here indeed. The rest of the world will gape in awe at what will be wrought in this great nation.

The most interesting aspect of a One Flesh marriage is that it is a relationship in which everyone gains and benefits. The only reason such marriages are the exception rather that the rule is lack of understanding. Most men and women have no idea of the power available to them, and so they nearly starve for love, affection, and fulfillment while these attributes lie right beside them. Here, as in all things, EDUCATION NOT LEGISLATION HAS THE POWER TO OVERCOME ALL EVIL.

Although the One Flesh family unit will be at the core of the New Renaissance, each unit will function in some form of organized structure. The nature of these institutions, and their impact on the New Renaissance society, we will now address.
