True Happiness

It is a contention of mine that unless a person is truly insane, whatever he does, he does it because he believes that sooner or later it will bring him happiness and all the other good things of life. Therefore, if he does what we call evil, it is because he does not understand the nature of temporal life or the action of the Divine Law. If he understood the Divine Law, he would quickly realize that only his efforts to help the Creator in His plan to bring greater beauty and perfection to the world will allow him to find the permanent happiness and contentment he desires. All other efforts not directed to this purpose will only bring him short-term and empty pleasure at best and possibly unbearable misery at the worst. For this reason one of the most useful services one can render to mankind is to instruct men in the nature of Divine Law. Once this knowledge is acquired, they will then have the ability to seek and find the lasting contentment they desire, what Jefferson called "the pursuit of Happiness."
