The energy that is the basis of the natural instincts is identical to the force that causes the rose bush to put forth buds and eventually burst open in glorious perfection. It is the dynamic action in the Earth that causes the lily to spring up from the mire and transmute this pollution into a blossom of whitest purity. It is also the incentive in man that prompts him to love and to seek love; to serve and be served and to take delight in objects of grace and beauty.
There is, however, a vital difference between the force that opens the bud and the potency that impels man. Neither the rose not the lily has free will; they are each perfect recipients of the energy in nature which stimulates growth. Man, having free choice, is not necessarily attuned to the Law that works for his perfection. He often accepts an abnormal doctrine of life and turns the Law of Nature operating through him into devious channels.
He too often lives an unnatural, perverted life and does
not allow his being flower within - the Soul - to blossom into
beauty and glory. In almost all instances his Divine Spark is
buried beneath a vast accumulation of false beliefs, misconceptions
and perverse, detrimental habits of life. His Divine Spark within
rarely reaches the bud state, much less develop into a full-blown
rose, and man misses his inheritance of Health and Happiness.
