Physicians, psychologists, religious leaders and educators generally agree on the importance of the earlier years of the child for the formation of emotional stability and wholesome personality traits. It is our aim in the compilation of the experiences of Ardath, five years old and her brother Arthur, who is four, while visiting their Great Grandfather, to idealize a relationship with children that is understanding, sensitive and positive. We endeavor to do this by basing relationships and activities on the fundamental laws of life as taught in Christian philosophy and other great religions of the world.
These stories are adapted from Bed-time Stories published in the magazine, The Initiates and the People, by the Philosophical Publishing company, in the late nineteen twenties and early nineteen thirties. We earnestly dedicate these stories to all children, every where, to try to help them avoid the emotional difficulties so apparent in institutions of the day, so these children may come to a healthy adulthood and live a happy, productive life.
