The healing performed by those who had become Initiates, and therefore had attained Soul or Cosmic Consciousness, of whom the Nazarene and Apollonius of Tyana were examples, was by the use of the highest and most refined force known to man.
This energy is known to us as the Fire which God said He was, as the Ineffable Light of the Initiates and as Æth Fire to the members of the Æth Priesthood.
It is the same essence Lord Bulwer Lytton called Vril. It was known to the middle century Philosophers and Alchemists as the "Elixir of Youth" and the "Philosopher's Stone." When used for self-healing it was called the "Elixir of Youth." When applied in the healing of others it was the "Philosopher's Stone."
Members of many cults in the past and even in the present day have made limited use of a less refined energy, less refined and less potent because it is a mental force that is directed in healing, while those who have become Initiates as a result of gaining Soul Consciousness and Individualization use the force which has been developed concurrently with the awakening and development of the Soul; it is really the Cosmic Light which is part of the Soul and can only be found in the Soul or Cosmic Sphere.
The Fires which help to bring the Soul to Consciousness are the Æth Fires.
This Æth is a transmutation of the highest order of Oxygen and Ozone in conjunction with the Spiritual Fires within man. It is created by air breathed into the lungs, then consciously drawn over the nervous system via the Creative and Regenerative centers to the Solar Plexus or Abdominal brain and thence directed by the mind to the Great or Pyramid Center. As a result of this action, the spirit force is first transmuted into creative energy, then transferred - the method being known only to those who have attained Soul Consciousness - to the Soul Center, the Altar within the innermost Sanctuary and placed upon the Shekinah, and from thence sent out to the sufferer by means of the Will, over the nervous system and directed by the hands and eyes.
In its highest aspect, the Æth is the union of the Awakened Mind forces and the Fires of the Illuminated Soul.
Every true Neophyte in the Arcane Schools is instructed in the methods for development and the transmutation of the Oxygen-Ozone-Creative elements or energy into the Æth Fires, as well as the direction or application of it in the process of "burning out" human ailments.
Mentalists understand many of the laws governing mind action and have applied mental forces under a variety of names such as New Thought Healing, Divine Healing, Christian Healing, Christian Science Healing and various other nomenclatures. But healing by means of the Æth, Soular or Cosmic Fires has been a mystery to all of these.
Magnetists have been able to cure many ailments and at one time were so numerous and successful that a powerful fraternity existed. The Magnetists paid little or no attention to the potency of suggestion and the subtlety of mental forces in the relief of ailments, but attempted to relieve all human ills by means of what they termed animal magnetism or the magnetic current. Mesmer was their greatest authority on the laws and usage of magnetic forces.
The magnetic force in man is analogous, or similar, to the magnetism of the heavenly bodies in the air and in the earth and unquestionably does exert a powerful influence on human beings generally.
Many of the Magnetists believed magnetism to be a fluid and that this fluid could be transferred from one person to another, that even a healthy animal could exert a beneficial effect upon a weak or ailing human being. We have no quarrel with these opinions; we have given much time and made many experiments in investigating them. In the main we find them to be true. They have their purpose in the prevention and treatment of the sick, but they are not to be considered as the Ne Plus Ultra of the hidden creative-healing forces.
Magnetism, or the force that became known as magnetism, was one of the first to be discovered by modern curists. It is more natural to man than any other force in nature. It is far denser than ether, consequently is more readily transferred or transmitted to the sufferer by means of the touch.
When the Mentalists discovered the power of suggestion and the influence one mind may exert over another, they were a step in advance of the Magnetists, but they were guilty of one serious mistake; they ignored the Law of Magnetism, refused to combine the magnetic forces of various types with their own discoveries, frequently failing in their efforts where success might readily have been achieved by the combined methods.
Those who came later and mastered the laws governing the Æth and its direction ignored neither the power of suggestion nor magnetic energy nor the influence the mind may exert and direct. They recognized all three as of benefit and frequently applied them. In doing this they also combined the higher potency to these three; they used them as vehicles, or mediums, through which, or over which, or by which, the Æth might be the more readily directed and transfused.
Æth healing is the highest type of nonmechanical, nonmaterial, nonmedicinal healing; it is the true Christic method for the relief of the ailing. It is the force employed by the healers who were also Initiates or Master-Teachers. It is Christic because it employs the Soul's Fire and God Himself said that He was this Fire.
The Initiates are conscious of possessing this force within themselves, because they have long been engaged in consciously developing it. As the Acolyte progresses under the direction and careful guidance of a Master-Teacher he gains the knowledge step by step. This force of Æth Fire becomes so concentrated and centralized that he is able to see it. This is not difficult of comprehension when the method of procedure is once fully understood.
The mind is the builder of the Soul.
The student consciously, by deliberate, well-planned effort, awakens the mind to Divine truths. Then the mind begins its building.
The Aspirant is never in doubt of what he is doing or what he seeks to accomplish. He is keenly aware of the thoughts he thinks and the desires he entertains in his heart.
As the Divine Spark, which is to become the Conscious Soul, is awakened, the mind forces and the Soul Fires intermingle and by this Christic (Christian) "marriage" the Æth is created.
The Neophyte will know when this spiritual marriage occurs by means of a method of reflection, and he is enabled to see these Æth Fires. This Æth Fire is the Holy Ghost consciously received within the inner sanctuary of the Temple.
There is no guess work. There can be no error due to a lack of knowledge. Progress is watched step by step by both the Master-Teacher and the Neophyte who, after once having developed it, finds this Fire always present and directable. To infuse the Æth Fire into the diseased organism is extremely simple. No harm is possible as it does not interfere or antagonize in the least with the application of any material substance, or the ingestion of medicinal agents.
The Æth, being a Divinely refined Fire, is light and luminous. It is an active, positive principle. It is electrical, it is magnetic, it is highly volatile, yet it is fixed. It penetrates all bodies as readily as an electric current traverses copper wire.
The Magnetists have discovered many of the laws governing magnetic induction. The Mentalists have solved a few of the powers possessed by the trained human Will. The third principle of mind and Soul, the Æth, is known to but a very few. It is the induction of the electric (mind) into the magnetic and the production of a new principle, but this must be accomplished by the medium of a living body.
The unity of the mind with the Soul creates the Christos or the Holy Ghost (consuming Fire). The Holy Ghost is the Fire of the Soul. This is the becoming of the Son of God; it is the savior, the healer, the two terms being synonymous. The healer saves; the savior heals or makes whole.
Why did the Magnetists fail under certain conditions? Why did the Mentalists fail in many cases? Because certain bodies and conditions of diseased bodies are too gross and congested to permit the transfusion or induction of the magnetic flow; because many minds are too dense to accept suggestion or permit mental influences to reach and activate the thought and desire chamber.
The human body is sometimes extremely coarse. The poisons and chemicalizations of certain acids in the system make it antagonistic and most difficult for the induction of magnetism. In other instances the body is finer and more receptive.
The healing vibrations of the Mentalists are higher and more penetrating than those of the Magnetists. These healers employ the etheric energy or Volantic principle of the mind. Both Magnetists and Mentalists have failed to bring relief in countless cases. There are many ailments or, shall we say, many sufferers who will not respond to either treatment and must be reached by some other means.
Magnetic treatment must be by means of manipulations because magnetism must be induced by force. Mental science or mind healing is electrical. The charges of mental vibrations are sent through the system to the diseased portion by means of mental affirmation of positive thought.
This mental healing is John the Baptist; the baptism by water, i.e., mind. The greater than this is to follow, as was prophesied. This is the Christos; the baptism by Fire or the Holy Ghost. This is the Science of the Soul, taught and practiced by the Master-Teachers.
Mental forces united with spiritual forces produce the Cosmic Fire, the potency of the Godhead.
It is written that the Nazarene said: "Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost"; that is, by the power of the three.
The great principle of the Law of Healing is clearly given in the first two chapters of Acts:
"These all continued with one accord [harmony in mind], in prayer [Soul] and supplication [desire and aspiration].
"And when the day of the Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place [all in harmonious accord]."
Every attribute of being agreeing in one desire, one conviction and one purpose. This concentration, a centralization of all power in one direction and with one aim in view.
"And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a mighty rushing wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
"And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of Fire, and it sat upon each of them."
This was the union, the coordination of mind and Soul, of the heart and the emotions. It was the descending of the Holy Ghost. This is the living Fire from "heaven." It is the Fire which God said He was and which must be received by the Soul or there can be no Cosmic Consciousness, no Illumination. This Fire which descends upon the Soul as it reaches consciousness then becomes the Æth, the mighty healing force, a fire and a force directable by all who have gained the necessary experience.
It is written: Jesus [the Nazarene] "commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which saith he, ye have heard of me.
"For John truly baptized with water [awakens the mind to a consciousness of the possibility of Immortality]; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost [those who accept the baptism of John, the mind awakening, and apply this rightly - righteously - will become Illuminated, receive the baptism by fire, that is, the Holy Ghost will descend upon them] not many days hence."
The Christos must be accepted by the mind, conceived in the Soul and born within the spiritual self before this promise can be fulfilled. When this Divine conception occurs, knowledge begins to "spring up as from a fountain" within the innermost self of the Aspirant. The mind must arouse the Will to action and send forth to the Soul the creative vibration; there it will be received and the building toward Christ (Cosmic) Consciousness will begin.
The wedding of the mind with the Soul's Divine Spark ultimately results in the birth of the Christos and the descension of the Holy Ghost or Cosmic Fire; this is the Soul's Illumination. Hence the promise:
"When he does appear we shall be like him, for we shall
see him as he is."
The birth of the Soul into Consciousness is also the "flowering"
of the Æth potency, the force that was applied and demonstrated
so frequently by the Nazarene in His ministry; as well as by other
Masters and Initiate-Teachers since.
All of them understood the hidden secrets of the Divine nature and how to direct the forces to the best interests of all.
The possibility of developing this potential energy is within the grasp of all men. It is only necessary that they shall awaken to the potentialities hidden within their being and seek the Path leading to achievement.
To successfully direct and demonstrate the Æth after it has become developed and is active demands a knowledge of the laws governing its application. The Æth healer must be capable of discovering the causes for the illness and suffering presented to him, and, having found the source, remove the cause and apply the remedy.
Man can use no greater and no more Divine Power than the Æth.
In the ultimate all that is real is fire; this is the fire that is God as He Himself has said. This Fire is the Soul of man; or, shall we say: The Soul becomes this Divine Fire? Despite the uncontradictable truth of this, few men comprehend it and not many more are willing to seek for the truth.
Mind awakens and brings the Soul into Consciousness; the Soul then inspires the mind, illuminates it with Divine truth and the two exchange their forces; the Æth is a result.
The Neophyte of the Arcane Schools is instructed in the development and control of the Light, and its final transmutation into the Æth.
After much effort and constant faithfulness the Neophyte will be able to see the Fire, the Light which is the Soul, as did Moses when the "bush" was on fire; will be able to control this "fire in the bush," direct it in the "healing of the nation." This healing of the nation is the work of making men whole (holy), a work of saving or "salvation."
The mind is part of God, but the Soul is all of God. The whole is greater than the part and that is the reason the Soul built by the mind continues to live long after the mind has passed to rest.
God is Soul and all of Soul is God. The Soul "inherits" Sonship and eternal life if it "honors" the Father by obedience to His Laws. Before the Soul can attain Immortality it must be brought into Conscious Individualization. The personality is of mind and body; out of this personality, like the butterfly out of the chrysalis, must be born the Son of God, the individual.
Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Mind, matter, Soul.
How can these last three be transmuted so as to become the living Soul, the Conscious Individual, the Cosmic Son of the Father of Light?
When the Neophyte attains the first stage of development he is thereby baptized with water; the mind has awakened to its possibilities as a creator, a builder.
The second stage is when he is baptized with the Fire; the Holy Ghost descending; this is the Illumination.
The third stage is the attainment of Sonship, the At-One-ness, Conscious Individualization.
His attainment as a result of his development and baptism is unto "truth and Wisdom."
He inherits the "Word" which guards the gates of the "Garden of Eden" wherein grows the tree which bears the fruit of life which he now may "eat" so that he becomes holy (whole - a whole man).
The love and "marriage" of the awakened mind to the Illuminated Soul symbolizes the nuptial of the Lamb of the Church.
This is the Wedding of the Christos (Light) to the Divine Sophia (Wisdom). For the consummation of this Divine Marriage shall man (the Minister) leave father, mother, brother, sister, aye, his wife and all others, that he may be a true servant (Son) of God (the Father).
"Behold, man has become as one of the gods."
"This day shalt thou be in paradise with me."
The Soul has returned to its first home, now to become a
co-worker with God and His Hierarchies for the establishment of
a "new heaven and a new earth" where the righteous (true
ones) shall reign.
